OpenClaw download questions
Where is the official OpenClaw download?

Is OpenClaw free to download?
Yes. OpenClaw is free, open-source software under the MIT license. You only pay for the AI model you connect to it and any server you run it on.
What is the latest version of OpenClaw?
As of September 29, 2026 the latest releases are v2026.9.6 for macOS, v2026.9.5 for Linux and v2026.9.4 for Windows. Check the GitHub releases page for newer versions.
Which install method should I choose?
Use the desktop app for a personal computer. Use the installer script for a quick command-line setup on Mac or Linux, Docker for a server, and npm if you already work with Node.js.
Can I download Clawdbot or Moltbot?
Clawdbot and Moltbot are old names for OpenClaw. Download OpenClaw from the official sources instead. Sites still offering Clawdbot or Moltbot downloads may be unsafe.
What do I need before installing?
For command-line installs, Node.js 24.16+ or 26.1+ (Node 26 recommended), unless you use the installer script, which sets it up. Desktop apps need macOS 15+, Windows 10 or 11, or 64-bit Linux. Docker needs at least 6 GB of RAM.
